As we are fast approaching 10;000 page views, I have to say Thank You to all our fans who visit. I try to bring you breaking news of interest to Classic Professional Wrestling fans.
I want to thank Ms. Melissa for creating this page.

The Tough Guys like Dick The Bruiser and The Crusher, to flamboyant stars like Gorgeous George.
We remember those lost tragically and to soon like Bobby Shane and Yukon Eric!
Managers like "Pretty Boy" Bobby Heenan that came out to chants of "We want blood! and Bobby Davis; Bobby Manganoff, Abdullah Foruk and Eddie Creechman, Don Carson, Dr. Ken Ramey, JC Dykes!! Wow!!!
The lovely and tough Women Wrestlers and my TSW Champion Misty Dawn!
Promoters like me learned from the best, Bob Luce, Fred Kohler, Sam Munchnik, Nick Gulas, Paul Boesch, and Dennis Hilgart.
The referees, Mike Figaroa, Stan Sarbernack, Percy Franklin, Henry Van Loon, and The "Dean" of Referees Connie Marker.
Timekeepers like Harry Black and Joe Mauriello!
All the ring guys!
So I am thankful for having the education in a business that was closed and yet I was taken in and given so much by so many.
So this page brings back all of the greats for all of the Territories.

NWA Great Bob Geigel passes!

Again another loss in the World of Professional Wrestling!
NWA Legend and CAC Mainstay Bob Geigel passes away at 90.
I have had the pleasure of knowing Bob for a few years. A Kansas City Promoter and Wrestler. Along with Tom Andrews and and The KC Boys, CAC would be expected at CAC to make a solid showing for the NWA and Central States Promotions.
Bob was a real gentleman and always gave advice to the young guys.
When you thought of scientific Wrestlers Bob was on top with Wilbur Snyder, Billy Robinson, Verne Gagne, and Nick Bockwinkel.
CAC won't be the same without Bob, and of course the recent passing of Manager Dr. Ken Ramey.
Thanks Bob for teaching, caring, and being a true part of Professional Wrestling!

One of The All Time Great Professional Wrestling Managers has gone on!

Dr. Ken Ramey put together Champions! The Interns, The Medics! Mysterious Masked Men of The Mat!
An avid bowler, Dr. Ken Ramey who CAC has named their Annual Bowling Tournament after was a genius as in this business!
I interviewed Dr. Ken last year, and stayed in touch by phone.
He could make me laugh, yet have me on the edge of my seat when he told stories of the road!
Tom Andrews told me how the not only had to deal with their opponents, but had to watch Dr. Kens safety as fans would not appreciate him and his crew!
Dr. Ken Ramey will be remembered at Classicprofessionalwrestling.blogspot.com!
Dr Ken and His Briefcase! He's in a safe spot!

Loss of a friend and Mat Great! Ox Baker

"The Fabulous" Ox Baker known for his Heart Punch and loud vocals has passed away.
Many people are posting his matches but I wanted to put Ox in a different light.
We met in Chicago in the Mid 1980's. I was a EMT for Promoter Brad Davis and Promoter Sam Decero.
I brought him to my house to meet me father. Ox and him talked like old friends and he treated my dad with respect.
Sure, he was a 300lb tough guy, but he was so many other things.
He enjoyed cooking, and animal care.
He loved to be funny(In his own way) and even raise peoples temperitures at times!
We traveled throughout Chicago and Southern Illinois.
Although his health was failing, he kept making appearences.
Ox had the "Heart Punch", but he also had heart!
We had you for 80 years and I know I am thankful that we were friends and stayed in tough.
Thanks for being Ox Baker!

"The General"

Skandor Akbar! Wold Class Championship Wrestling fans will remember the General.
Shamefully, when surveys on websites ask for favorite Managers, the same names seem to appear. This is is fine, except to leave out a colorful and well known Professional Wrestling Mainstay like "The General" is really sad.
The Dastardly Akbar always kept the fans mad at him. He had damage to his car many times, yet he took it in stride as part of the business.
Whether he managed a legend or a green new to the area kid, Akbar took the time to actually Managed him. Mentor him.
He was known as an honest man whose word was good enough for any deal.
A very frugal man, often mentioned in the same breath as "Wild" Red Berry.
So if you get a chance to be a part of some groups question of the day as to who is one of the greatest Managers, go on, tell them. because truly Skandor Abar deserves to be remembered, and he will, on Classic Professional Wrestling with Promoter Bob Brooks!!

Shirley Strimple!

Shirley was a lovely and rough Woman Wrestler. She had opponents like Ella Waldek, Penny Banner, and Mary Jane Mull!
Shirley balanced her beauty and skills in the business.
Married to Roy Mclarity.
Nicknamed the Wrestling Housewife, she was way ahead of her time.
One can only imagine if Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield had not been around, Shirley would have certainly took center stage!

Little Bruiser!

Little Bruiser looked like his counter part The Worlds Most Dangerous Wrestler Dick The Bruiser! The  WWA Match with DTB, The Crusher, and Little Bruiser vs The Blackjacks and Bobby Heenan was a classic!
Little Bruiser may not have receieved the print that Sky Low Low, and Lord Littlebrooks did, but he was really a tough man and went over big in the WWA.
Little Bruiser died in a car accident in April of 1995, so we here at Classic Professional Wrestling rememember a fan favorite, Little Bruiser!

RIP Billy Robinson!

From Manchestor England!
The British Empire Champion has passed away at age 74.
Reports confirm he passed away in his sleep at his home.
Robinson was a well travelled man from a young age.
Billy could teach you yet never letting his student know everything, like a good Master of any craft or art.
For AWA Wrestlers and fans, Billy's matches with Verne Gagne will stand out, but if you look closely, you can see where he gave 110% whether it was a TV match or house card.
Billy Robinson was know for having quick moves and counters.
At times he was a cobination of Wilbur Snyder, Lou Thesz, Gotch, and yes, Verne Gagne.
In his demonstration with AWA Great Nick Bockwinkel in The Wrestler, Billy spars with Nick and counters moves and a few cheap shots.
Billy spent his latter years training young wrestlers of tommorrow.
Robinson brought science and art to the squared crcle.
He was a Master of holds and fans enjoyed his sportsmanship and long grueling matches.
Thanks Billy for sharing your talents with us.

Big Bertha!

Big Bertha was somewhat controversial according to research done by CPW. Some sites have even made the claim that Big Bertha was actually a man.
Fans, please remember that Professional Wrestling was spun off from Carnivals. So freak shows and oddities were a sideshows and Professional Wrestling used many gimmicks to draw fans.
Regardless of criticism and speculation, Classic Professional Wrestling remembers Big Bertha!!

George Scott Passes!

George Scott, known for teaming with his brother Sandy past away today.
Scott was well known in the Mid Atlantic and South. He did make it to Chicago in 1972.
George worked not only as a Professional Wrestling, but behind the scenes after injuries forced him into a early retirement.
George seem to find opposition later in his career, and colliding with new ideas and breaking aay from "Tradional" Professional Wrestling in favor of Sports Entertainment.
Classic Professional Wrestling appreciates and remembers George Scott and his contributions to Professional Wrestling!

Larry Hamilton AKA "The Misouri Mauler".
This week we highlight one of the truely Tough Guys in the business.
Larry was popular in the Carolinas and Virginia.
He broke his brother into the business and teamed with The Great Bolo!
Classic Professional Wrestling Highlights The Missouri Mauler!
Johnnie Mae Young,
a Woman Professional Wrestler has past away!
She was not a Diva, or Cheerleader, nor did she wear gym shoes and cut offs into the ring.
Mae Young was a Professional and proud to be in the business.
While many of us remember her from her ring days, many others remember her from recent WWE and WWF TV work.
As a young wrestler she graced the ring with her beauty, but counted on her talent to get her a three count.
From 1940 on Johnnie Mae Young battled opponents, as well as a business that did not welcome Ladies into a mostly men's business.
Ed "Strangler" Lewis, one of the All Time Greats, trained Young, which tells you she learned how to Wrestle.
The Movie Lipstick and Dynamite gave the public a view of women's wrestling and the uphill battle to compete in a mans world, Young was one the top stars shown.
Johnnie Mae Young, thanks for the ring memories!
You will be remembered on Classic Professional Wrestling!
